Open Core
Devious is built with NAP, an open source framework for audiovisual tools and automation. The hardware platform is all readymade components – including a HifiBerry DAC.
Interface Innovation
Our interface is designed for hybrid DJing, combining best-of-both-worlds feature set. Highlights include loop function (1-32 bars), BPM locking and auto-pitching when new tracks are loaded, pitch-range adjustment, and a pass-through button for the vinyl signal, amplified by a digital phono pre-amp.
Swappable Enclosures
Our design is modular and different styles of enclosures can be swapped. We currently offer three color ways and have plans to release more colors, materials and forms – from sculptural shapes for your living room to rugged cases for the club.
Alternative software and hardware
Our assembly consists of readymade hardware components - a 4" high resolution touch screen, a passively cooled micro-computer, and a HifiBerry DAC. Our custom software is built with the Open Source NAP Framework, and glued to this assembly. The design allows for a high degree of repairability and even reusability – if you ever like to make something new from the components.
